On Sunday 19 November, 17 members of the David Winter Collectors Club Victoria Chapter meet at Theresa Stelling's home for their annual Christmas lunch and to celebrate their 15th Anniversary. For many years, Lee & Hedley Deacon have hosted the Christmas lunch doing a marvelous job of cooking the roast meats and Lee's delicious Christmas pudding was always a hit. This year, we changed to Theresa's to give Lee & Hedley a rest and to enable them to sit back and relax on the day. Lee still cooked her plum pudding much to the delight of everyone. It was quite a challenge for Theresa to cook the meats as she hadn't done it before but she did a beautiful job and doesn't know what she was worried about - to the extent that she may do it again next year!

It was a lovely surprise to have Ria & Paul Kershaw join us! Something Theresa arranged unbeknown to all. Ria was Club Treasurer for many years but because of business commitments has not been able to attend many meetings in recent years. Margaret Ridley brought the Christmas spirit with her, complete with Santa hat and fluffy Santa slippers and also her yummy Christmas chocolates which she does each year.

And the day was also the celebration of the 15th anniversary of our first meeting organized by Bev Munro and held at Royal Selangor, the then Australian distributors of David Winter Cottages. Many of the collectors were at the original meeting and found it hard to believe that 15 years had passed! The collectors were also thrilled to receive a letter of congratulations from David - a very pleasant surprise! As a Club we still enjoy getting together and marvel at the fact that collecting David Winter cottages not only brought joy to collectors as they added another cottage to their cabinet but also brought lasting friendships. What more could you ask.......
